Spectral characteristics of instrumental and climate model surface temperatures
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2016-02-05)
The spatiotemporal temperature variability for several gridded instrumental and general circulation climate model data is characterized, contrasting power spectra of local and global temperatures, land and sea temperatures, and temperatures of different regions. There is generally a high degree of agreement between the spectral characteristics of instrumental and climate model data. All but the ...
Bacterial Diversity in the Digestive Tracts of Four Indian Air-Breathing Fish Species Investigated by PCR Based Denaturing Gradient Gel Electrophoresis
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2016-12-02)
An investigation was conducted to identify the allochthonous microbiota (entire intestine) and the autochthonous microbiota in proximal intestine (PI) and distal intestine (DI) of four species of Indian air-breathing fish (climbing perch; Anabas testudineus, murrel; Channa punctatus, walking catfish; Clarias batrachus and stinging catfish; Heteropneustes fossilis) by PCR based denaturing gradient ...
The role of L1 phonology in L2 morphological production: L2 English past tense production by L1 Spanish, Mandarin, and Japanese Speakers.
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017)
This study considers the role of L1 phonological influence in L2 English past tense morphology production by native speakers of Spanish, Mandarin, and Japanese. While these L1s share similar phonological restrictions on consonant cluster formation needed for English past tense morphology, differences arise in L1 syntax (only Mandarin lacks syntactic past) and L1 prosodic structure (only Japanese has ...
Epidural anesthesia and postoperative analgesia with ropivacaine and fentanyl in off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting: a randomized, controlled study
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2011)
Our aim was to assess the efficacy of thoracic epidural anesthesia (EA) followed by postoperative
epidural infusion (EI) and patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) with ropivacaine/fentanyl in off-pump
coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB).
In a prospective study, 93 patients were scheduled for OPCAB under propofol/fentanyl anesthesia and randomized to three postoperative analgesia regimens ...
Percentage density, Wolfe's and Tabár's mammographic patterns. Agreement and association with risk factors for breast cancer
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2005-08-25)
Introduction: The purpose of this report was to classify
mammograms according to four methods and to examine their
agreement and their relationship to selected risk factors for
breast cancer.
Method: Mammograms and epidemiological data were collected
from 987 women, aged 55 to 71 years, attending the Norwegian
Breast Cancer Screening Program. Two readers each classified
the mammograms according ...
PAI-1 and t-PA/PAI-1 complex potential markers of fibrinolytic bleeding after cardiac surgery employing cardiopulmonary bypass.
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2012)
Enhanced bleeding remains a serious problem after cardiac surgery, and fibrinolysis is often involved. We speculate that lower plasma concentrations of plasminogen activator inhibitor – 1 (PAI-1) preoperatively and tissue plasminogen activator/PAI-1 (t-PA/PAI-1) complex postoperatively might predispose for enhanced fibrinolysis and increased postoperative bleeding.
Totally 88 adult patients (mean ...
A Carbon-Constrained Stochastic Optimization Model with Augmented Multi-Criteria Scenario-Based Risk-Averse Solution for Reverse Logistics Network Design under Uncertainty
(Journal article; Peer reviewed; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017-07-10)
With the increase of the concern from the public for environmental pollution and waste of resources, the value recovery through reuse, repair, remanufacturing and recycling from the end-of-use (EOU) and end-of-life (EOL) products have become increasingly important. Reverse logistics is the process for capturing the remaining value from the EOU and EOL products and also for the proper disposal of the ...
Chip-based wide field-of-view nanoscopy
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017-04-24)
Present optical nanoscopy techniques use a complex microscope for imaging and a simple glass slide to hold the sample. Here, we demonstrate the inverse: the use of a complex, but mass-producible optical chip, which hosts the sample and provides a waveguide for the illumination source, and a standard low-cost microscope to acquire super-resolved images via two different approaches. Waveguides composed ...

Thermal behaviour of edible crab Cancer pagurus Linnaeus, 1758 in coastal Norway
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-02-26)
Ocean warming drives latitudinal shifts in the distribution of ectotherm species. The rate and magnitude of such shifts are constrained by physiology and behavioural thermoregulation. Here, we investigated the thermal preference and lower critical temperature (CTmin) in female edible crab Cancer pagurus, a decapod crustacean with an ongoing northward dispersal along the Norwegian coast. The ...
