The La Recherche Expedition - Bear Island
We never tired of looking at mountains there with the most incredible shapes. Some towered in the air as obelisques while others, being gouged out at the bottom, resembled ramshackled buildings. There were some, too, that looked like the large pagan idols of primitive peoples.
