The La Recherche Expedition also visited Lofoten during its extensive 1838-1840 expedition.
Svolvær Harbor
Numerous Norwegian painters converged on Lofoten at the end of the 19th-century and the beginning of the 20th-century. Gunnar Berg, from Svolvær, was one of them.
