Brief report of the conference The conference was arranged by the Nordic Council for Reindeer Husbandry Research (NOR) and the Centre for Sami Studies (SESAM), University of Tromsø and was held at the University. A Rangifer Report (No. 14, 2010) was distributed for the attendants and included programme and abstracts of the conference lectures and posters. The report is also in Rangifer online edition where you will find all details about the conference (http://www.ub.uit.no/baser/septentrio/index.php/rangifer/issue/view/137). In all, 128 persons attended the 16th Nordic Conference on Reindeer and Reindeer Husbandry Research. The main topic was changes in reindeer husbandry and changes affecting the reindeer husbandry. The conference was opened by the chairman of NOR, reindeer owner Inge E. Danielsen. Totally, there were 32 oral presentations and 19 posters. At the opening and at the reception, Lena Susanne K. Gaup joiked. The reception was arranged in the Sami Cultural Building Árdna at the university campus. The associate leader of SESAM, Per Klemetsen Hætta, introduced Árdna and the Indigenous Studies for the audience. A well organized and successful conference marked the 30th Anniversary of the Nordic Council for Reindeer Husbandry Research.
