Author Biography

Kjetil Jakobsen, Department of Media Studies and Information Science, University of Bergen

Kjetil Jakobsen is a post-doctoral research fellow at the department of media studies and information science, university of Bergen. He currently studies perceptions of the mass media in 19th and 20th century art, literature and
philosophy. He has written a large number of essays and articles on problems of cultural history and theory. In his doctoral thesis Jakobsen compared Niklas Luhmann's approach to aesthetic autonomy with that of Pierre Bourdieu.
