    Denne dagen er ment å være et seminar for de som arbeider med, eller har interesse av, åpne vitenarkiver og/eller OA-publisering i Norge.

    Siktemålet er at dagen skal bidra til at målgruppen kan:
    • utveksle erfaringer
    • drøfte aktuelle problemstillinger
    • bli oppdatert på nyheter
    • peke på behov for utvikling og forbedringer
    • bli bedre kjent
    • oppnå økt samarbeid og bedre kommunikasjon seg imellom
    • bli inspirert

    Registrering for ordinære deltakere er åpen til og med 9. november, lokale deltakere (ansatte og studenter ved UiT) kan registrere seg til og med 14.november. Registreringen gjør du her

  • The 7th Munin Conference on Scientific Publishing 2012 – New Trends

    The 7th Annual Munin Conference on Scientific Publishing

    The Munin conference is an annual conference on scientific publishing, with an Open Access approach. This years' conference will be held 22–23 November 2012 at the University of Tromsø, Norway.

    This years key note speakers are John Willinsky and Damian Pattinson.

    John Willinsky will also be holding a pre-conference workshop on the Open Monograph Press.

    Publishers' session: Social Sciences Directory, Co-Action publishing, Elsevier and PLoS.

    Presentations of their visions on how scholarly publishing will work in the future, and how they contribute to the realization of these visions.

    Other topics:

    Messages from researchers: by four of them, Open Access Funding, Open Access Key, Sharing of research data.

  • The 6th Munin conference 2011 – Enhancing publications

    November 22, 2011 – November 23, 2011

    The Munin conference is an annual conference on scientific publishing, with an Open Access approach.

    The duration of this year’s Munin conference will be over one and a half day and will take place at the University of Tromsø from the 22nd – 23rd of November.  The Munin Conference is hosted by the Library at the University of Tromsø. The conference is a meeting place for researchers, graduate students and library staff. This years conference, the 6th, has "Enhancing publications" as its theme. Among topics intended you will find:

    • Open access publishing
    • Open access to scientific data
    • New formats of scientific journals and scientific papers
    • The borderline between scientific publishing and impartment of knowledge
    • The peer review system

    The 6th Munin conference 2011 have two key notes:

    • Martin Rasmussen, director of the Copernicus Publications in Göttingen. Mr Rasmussens lecture has the title “Ensuring Availability and Quality of Research Data through Open Access and Public Peer-Review”. The Coperincus Publications have done exciting things in this area in their own journal, Earth System Science Data (ESSD).
    • Cameron Neylon, Senior Scientist in Biomolecular Sciences at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), UK. Mr Neylons lecture has the title “I need to publish more and read less! How new platforms will enable you to publish more effectively while reducing information overload”. Amongst other things, Neylon will discuss how modern communication technology can be used to make a researchers’ day more efficient.
