 Oppgangssag mm i Vikbekken

Frame-saw etc. at Vikbekken ( )
The grist-mill was built in 1793, using a typical water-wheel. The grist-mill building is cog-jointed, using 6" side-notched pine logs, and the roof is covered with birch bark and turf. The grist-mill is relatively large, 2.7 x 2.6 metres in external ground area. The newly-restored grist-mill has been operational since 2005. During the nineteenth century there were six grist-mills operating simultaneously at Vikbekken. In all there were about 30 grist-mills in Bardu. The reconstructed grist-mill was completed in 2005.
